The #GivingTuesday hype (I hate) and why it matters

Today is Giving Tuesday. You may have heard of it. It’s the day after Cyber Monday, which comes after Small Business Saturday that comes after Black Friday, which is the day after Thanksgiving. Let’s all be thankful and then shop big and then shop small and then donate (this last one is *actually* important.) And if you’re anything like me, you get sick of gimmicky hashtags quickly and roll your eyes at the idea of being able to raise any kind of meaningful awareness about anything on social media.
